To social media or not to social media

This posts title might be a little misleading, not my intention. I believe that social media has a great place in life. In fact that is where I got the idea for my little space on the internet, was social media. It all started out with the previous posts about taking some railroad adventures, sharing the thoughts on social media, my friends and followers there appreciated what was being brought to their day.

It was extremely heart-warming to watch the comments from those who responded and it was a great deal of interaction. Which brings me now to this post title. It has been many years, and honestly not one problem, until recently when I went to check some notifications and I was informed that my account was “restricted” for some unknown reason. I’ve been handling a lot of things away from social media and wasn’t even checking on things. I mean there is a new Legend of Zelda. Obviously something “triggered” that to happen. They have their community standards and guidelines, and that is OK. So I began thinking, welp, I have my little blog here, and why not use the idea of the posts from social media to go, in essence, “public.” Use the way that I would interact with those on social media, but now it is all public and available to the world. I do not intend to close any of my accounts, however, when speaking, I can post things here and copy a link for those there to see it.

Social media has really helped me a lot to reconnect with those whom our paths crossed for a short period of time and life began to happen for them. Which is what it is really all about isn’t it? Especially with how things are today, there is so much out there to keep a person occupied. So going forward, the plan is to create the “post” for social media here and share it. I do not plan on closing any social media accounts, just change the way I do things.

To the social media companies of the world, thank you for the inspiration to venture out and make things more open and public.
